Kentucky Academic Advising Association

About the President-Elect

Aaron Raider, Eastern Kentucky University

I started working on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University with a strong desire to go into the student life/development area.  I started working as a student recruitment specialist and through an opportunity that arose I was able to transition into an academic advising role.  From that time on, I have fell in love with the combination of working with the academic side and non-academic side and being the bridge between the two.  I am now currently serving as Manager of Advising & Academic Services in the College of Justice & Safety.

I am happy to be serving as the Vice President in KACADA because I believe we have an instrumental role in helping student navigate through the educational process.  With most things in life, the group who bangs the drum the loudest get the most attention and I think we need to draw more attention to how we are on the front line in student persistence and success.  I want to be that voice for you as fellow advisors across the state.
