About the President

I sincerely believe in the power of advising, and I am glad to have the opportunity to promote it! I really enjoy meeting other advisors and would ultimately like to build a network of colleagues and friends across the state that all Kentucky advisors can take advantage of.
I am an academic advisor who has been very involved in professional advising associations. I have presented at the KACADA State Conference, the Region III NACADA Conference, and the NACADA National Conference. I am also a member of the Steering Committee for NACADA Region III. This involvement has allowed me to create some of my fondest memories, as I love to network with other advisors to have fun and exchange ideas.
I am always looking for ideas and feedback, so please don't hesitate to contact me with anything. One of my ideas involves the implementation of some campus visits around the state. I know that I am personally extremely interested in the approach that other advisors take and how advising is perceived on various campuses. I also think it would be refreshing to be able to see fellow advisors more than once or twice a year. These visits could hopefully facilitate the exchange of ideas and the building of relationships, while promoting collaboration.
I strive to represent the state and our profession well, and I truly look forward to working with you all.
Here's a little bit of additional information about me:
I am originally from Sylvania, Ohio, but I moved to North Carolina to earn a B.A. in Spanish and international business at Greensboro College. After a year in law school and some time spent on various other pursuits and travels, I returned to Northwest Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University to earn a M.A. in college student personnel. Since then I have been working in the student affairs arena and truly enjoying it!
