About the Membership Chairperson

I am proud to serve as the Membership Committee Chairperson for KACADA. As one of the founding members and having served as an officer during KACADA’s first year I saw firsthand what a need Kentucky has for an advising organization. I believe KACADA is a tremendous asset to the Commonwealth by promoting and supporting quality academic advising throughout the state which in turn improves the educational development of all our students. I feel that by our collaboration and unified efforts we can change the overall profile of higher education and degree attainment in the state. I have worked in higher education for the last eight years. Currently I am a Transfer Admissions & Articulation Coordinator for Eastern Kentucky University. My position is stationed at Bluegrass Community & Technical College where I advise students who intend to transfer to EKU. I feel advising is one of the crucial components when working with the staff, faculty and especially students at the community college level. By being accessible and assisting transfer students at the beginning of their college careers I can ensure students have a smooth and seamless transition to Eastern. I also provide them with the support and resources they need to be successful and graduate. I am a graduate of Asbury where I was a student athlete and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Communications. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Kentucky in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation.
